(solved)So I broke X

Like the title says, I broke X.

Due to a botched attempt at installing an NVIDIA driver on my laptop, I have broken X.

Now, instead of the normal #! startup screen I get the terminal you would get when you press ctrl+alt+f1. I log into this just fine and try to start up X by using

startx

but this just causes and error that outputs "no screens found".

I tried to reconfigure X using

sudo X -configure

but it fails.

Any ideas on how I can fix this without reinstalling?

Okay everyone. I fixed it.

I just used

nvidia-xconfig --restore-original-backup

Remember kids, backup everything!
