Programs, boot to ram?

Hello I've noticed that programs take a few seconds to start the first time they are used, chrome takes about 8 seconds to start the first time after a new bootup, but after that I can start chrome instantly everytime until reboot. The same thing goes for other programs like terminator. Is there a way to make chrome start instantly always? I've read that you can boot into ram, but I still want my programs to persist after reboot.
