Re: Broadcom wireless card problems.

^ I suspect it is a remainder of OP installing wl - my fault, I apologize for being a hurry when I advised OP -, then reverting to b43. There is still a reference to wl in initramfs (module dependencies still include wl)
This should be cleared by running:

sudo depmod -a
sudo update-initramfs -u -k all

Re: Broadcom wireless card problems.

Hey just an update I tweaked my power save setting and toned it done. Thus far I haven't experienced any of the symptoms that I previously was having. Thank you both svensage Xaos52 for all the help I think we can mark this one fixed.

As a new person to linux do y'all have any suggestions on what I should do to get better at operating linux?

Re: Broadcom wireless card problems.

Glad it is working now.

Fastest way to learn is to break things and try to repair them.  smile
First on your own, then if you are stuck, ask for help in the forums.

First learn to backup your system and restore it reliably.
Like for most things in linux, there is more than one way to do that.
How do you backup your system

Choose one and make sure you have it working. Don't wait to test your restore till you need it.

Then you can experiment to your hearts content.
