I'm running #! with openbox on my laptop. At home I hook up my other monitor and I've updated my autostart.sh with xrandr command and that all works wonderful. But what I'm trying to do now is get my monitors configured in my system prior to autostart.sh running and my research led me to xorg.conf, which is now deprecated. What replaced it?
I'd like to have both monitors with their proper resolution set when I log in and I think (and I might be wrong), configuring the x windows system is the only route.

X now configures itself without generating an xorg.conf. However, if you create that file with some speciall settings in it, they will be read. If you already know what to put in your xorg.conf, try making one - this worked for me in the past to set the display size on an old laptop.
