Re: March 2013 Screenshot Thread

Out of curious i installed antiX fluxboxedition on a spare partition, playing with it blahblah... What i liked from the first start is the smxi script ready to use and that is worth a +1.

Re: March 2013 Screenshot Thread

Haven't posted in approximately 2.7 millennia, since I got more into Linux Mint as of late (I'm no Linux expert). But recently, having been inspired by the newest Chromebooks, I decided to fashion a sort of "Chromebang" OS on my 1024x600 res netbook using Crunchbang as a starting point. As you can see, I'm using very simple Conky and single-desktop Tint2 setups, and I have an unobtrusive Cairo dock in the corner. Not far from out-of-the-box #!, really... Just a singularly-focused #! setup  smile

Decided the colors were too jarring and opted for a more mono color scheme.

You could run Chromium OS on your netbook you know?  Maybe that's not actually what you're going for... But just so you know.  http://chromeos.hexxeh.net/

I thought about that, but I really wanted more functionality than just the browser without sacrificing a tremendous amount of performance (this netbook has 1GB of RAM). Thus, my Chromium-focused #! desktop. But thanks! smile I may end up installing the Chromium OS one day just for kicks on another machine.

... that's it, I must know.
Why does every VSIDO screenshot in these threads have a giant VSIDO logo on the wallpaper? Is this some kind of feature of the distro?

Yes, you can't change to a wallpaper that does not have VSIDO in it big_smile

I'd presume its because Vastone is the one that created VSIDO, and he's trying to promote it.  The others that post VSIDO scrots here are presumably trying to help him promote it.

It would be a pretty freaking hilarious feature if VSIDO was watermarked on every scrot...
