I installed the newest crunchbang on my dell inspiron 1501. But when it boots after showing waiting for /dev to be fully populated all I see is a black screen with colored lines going down the screen vertically. When I do a live boot I see these lines untill I shut the computer and it goes to sleep then when I open it I see the locked screen prompt asking me to enter the password. What can I do this to fix my computer.

Sounds like xscreensaver is running if you are getting a password prompt.
Can you get into another tty? Try ctrl+alt+F2
If you can, maybe check /var/log/Xorg.0.log
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log > /root/xorg.logDump that file onto a USB and give us the output if you can.
Also what drivers are you using?
*edit*
Give us the output of lspci as well please.
