Well, this problem is strange to say the least.
I installed many gtk2 themes to go with some of my openbox themes I've been working on, when I noticed that ONLY file-roller windows and transmission windows were not changing to their proper gtk themes as selected in lxappeaerance.
Thinking I just had forgot to install all the gtk2 engines along with any libs that could possibly be required, I went ahead and did so. installing pixbuf, nodoka, etc etc. This is after I had found out that only some of the gtk2 themes werent working in those two apps. It seemed to fix the problem.... temporarily. Upon next login it went back to wonky, but keep in mind that thunar themes correctly, iceweasel, and every other program. Both progs arent using the root theme either, they just revert to default. (statler i believe)
I searched the #! forums for similar problems, most were just with people who hadn't installed all the gtk2 engines correctly or were using gtk3 themes or had erroneus code in the theme scripts, but like I said, all the engines are there, theres no problem with the various themes code (popular deviations off of deviantart,gnome-look, etc) so I'm stumped.
If any more detailed info is needed, let me know and I will supply it.
I greatly appreciate any help put forward, this issue isnt life or death.... just strange... if worse comes to worse, its just two windows that look like shite.
Keep up the good work! Thanks! I hope to share some of my desktop customization creations on the forums in the future!

I believe transmission uses GTK3 themes; I'm not sure about file-roller.
Hope this helps a little -
we see things not as they are, but as we are.

I think it's a gtk3 thing. You need themes that support gtk3 as well.
Wizard you beat me

Yup, both are GTK3.

Ahhh... makes sense, some dirs have the gtk3 themes alongside their gtk2 counterparts. Didnt think about that, I guess I was assuming that I would have to install the gtk3 engines/libs for them to work.

And also if you want to have the same theming in applications run in root, put the theme also into your root folder of:
