system does not start after a Wine crash

hey guys

i installed wine on crunchbang, and wanted to play with age of empires 2 with the new expansion.. it started but it didnt worked well, so i just wanted to exit from the game. i clocked on the x and returned to my desktop, but it was weird somehow, the colours and the sharpness was bad. so i exited, and wanted to reboot, and since then i cant login. my pc starts normally i enter my username and pass, but then nothing happens. i have some important files there. can anyone help me with that?

Not a huge wine expert here, however this statement has me thinking that wine somehow changed your display settings to a mode that is not properly supported by your screen.

When at the logon screen, try hitting ctrl + alt + f1 then logon with your username and browse to /etc/X11 and open the file xorg.conf.
If you find something odd about it, you can fix it as root. Remember to make a backup before though.

that file (xorg.conf) does not exist there....
