Is there a way to install inkscape.  There seems to be some dependency issues.

Re: Inkscape

Yes. One of two ways:

sudo apt-get install inkscape

As I would do it because I appreciate the fact that people put effort into making GUI-based solutions, go to System > Synaptic Package Manager and then click Reload (for good measure) and then type Inkscape in the Quick Filter. Check the box (if it is unchecked) and then click Apply. Wait until done. Profit.

Either way works fine. I am not aware of any dependency issues, but I'd like to hear in more detail if you had any.

Re: Inkscape

OK. So, I can't recall what the dependency was so I tried to install from sources.  Ran into a bunch of stuff I needed to install first (freetype, libgc.....) but didn't get finished installing everything it was asking for.  Just tried to apt-get install it and it worked!  Go figure.  Either way, I'm happy.

Thanks ^_^

Re: Inkscape

You should edit your original post and change the title to:  [SOLVED] Inkscape
