update statler kernel to waldorf

Hi guys,
I recently installed CrunchBang Statler on my thinkpad x230i but I notice that many devices are not recognized as wifi, audio, SD card reader, so I thought if it's possible to update the kernel to a newer version.
I tried to do also a clean install with waldorf image burn to dvd, but I have problems with chroot (I suppose???) and it doesn't load the operating system, I thought it was due to the ssd disc but also with a traditional hdd I've the same result.
How can I do?
There is a detailed guide on the forum from which to take inspiration?
Thanks in advance.

Re: update statler kernel to waldorf

I can't answer your question, but ...

In the future, before you install, try the live CD and make sure everything work before installing.  This is true for
other linux distros that have liveCD versions.
