Re: No sound card detected

Welcome aboard HFont; just to be sure, you did check alsamixer to see if any cards showed up.

(I had an HP with Intel & had to use a later sound driver than came with 2.6.32.)

Re: No sound card detected

I updated to kernel 3.2 from the backport repositories... Working like a charm... Thanks for helping me out junkie! I hope I can fulfil this task of helping out others very soon...

Any chance anybody knows how to turn of the beeps from my motherboard? (ex it beeps when I try to enter a number with the numpad but the numlock isn't on)

Re: No sound card detected

Maybe mute 'beep' or 'speaker' in alsamixer, worth a try.

Re: No sound card detected

Try xset -b or disabling it in BIOS.
