This is my all time fav screensaver in Linux. I can't locate it in the crunchbang repos. Any alternatives?
Thanks!

isn't a bad practice to install orphan debs? what happens to dependencies, libraries etc.. I want to run a very stable system.. should I go through the dpkg -i mess?

Also available in antiX repo.

Thanks. How do I add this? Will this get mixed with the other repos? Don't want to get any other kernel images. libs etc. just xlock!

Is it this one ->
deb http://daveserver.dyndns-web.com/antix-repo wheezy main contrib non-freeBut I'm on stable (backports), should I add a testing repo? I just need xlockmore, but I don't want to pull any libs from the testing branch..

# antiX
deb http://www.daveserver.info/antiX/debs testing main
should do it.
Then uncomment after.
IIRC one old lib will be installed with it that shouldn't cause any issues. I run with Debian Sid repos.

Installed fine but it doesnt work properly
it gets blank when running xlock.. same thing happens with slock. Could this be related with uninstalling xscreensaver? I did autoremove xscreensaver, not sure if it uninstalled any related libs?

It is meant to just blank the screen

lol, there used to be several screensavers, or where those inherited from xscreensaver?

The screensavers were in xlockmore-gl.
Also, bad news, is that xlockmore is no longer in Sid and I just tried rebuilding it without success.

Does that mean, xlockmore not anymore supported and scheduled for a debian release?

Yes, unfortunately it does seem like it.

argh.. what are the viable alternatives? I just need smth simple to launch from the terminal, lock the screen, random screensavers. simple stuff..

With screensavers I don't know. There is slock and i3lock, but they don't have screensavers.
