Issues accessing external CD drive

I am trying to burn an audiobook with XFburn, but xfburn says the disc is full.

Thunar doesn't show the cd drive, and all atempts to mount it say that I have a bad filesystem.

I attempted opening the disc with VLC, mounting it and changing the disc, all to no avail.

(I also don't have another drive to cross check with).

/dev shows the following drives.

cdrom3
cdrom6
cdrw3
cdrw6
dvd3
dvd6
dvdrw3
dvdrw6

However all of these point to sr0.

Any pointers appreciated.

Re: Issues accessing external CD drive

Maybe your disc needs to be formatted, or blanked fully to re use it.

This is a blank, never used CD. Not sure how to format that wink It seems to be a driver issue, as it has no problem reading CDs, but is incapable of writing any data.

Xfburn - Blank Disc; that should set it up for you to burn to it.
