Hi Everybody!
I'm a bit of a linux newb. I've been messing around with Ubuntu and a few of the portable oses (lots of the puppies and knoppix). Ubuntu is kidna neat but w/ 12.10 it takes up neraly a gig just sitting there and that kinda grosses me out. So after seeing how frendly the forum seems, how neat openbox is, and the fact that this has apt, I'm givin #! a try on my old latptop. Then, based on how it goes, I may replace ubuntu 12.10 on my more powerful rig.
So if I can get my wirelss adapter working, It will be perfect on this latptop.
If I can figure out how to install 3d drivers for my nividia card on my desktop, along w/ a few other tecky quesions. This might just be the right os for me all around.
I'm currently a web developer mainly w/ php, I also have 6 years experiance testing flight critical software written in c and c++.
I enjoy programming and I'd love to find a way to contribute (so any advice would be great as to where to start).
Anyway, here goes!! I look forward to being active in the forums and giving this os a real try!

Your wifi might need firmware to get it to work, if so :-
use a cable connection &
sudo apt-get install firmware
reboot & configure.

Thanks for the welcome and the link crunchbanger. I'll certainly check this out.
I've been searching for linux firmware for this device but only windows stuff comes up. The adapter worked fine in other version of linux so I have hope that I can get it to work here. Here's a link to the forum post about this (and what i've tried so far), if you're interested.
