I have an extreme problem. I have a computer that runs crunchbang. I added a program called pam_usb onto it. I, being me, failed at setting it up. I am now logged out of my computer. I have managed to reach a terminal by editing the grub startup that allows me to edit thing without the password. I have no idea what to do now. I need to remove pam_usb. Please help me.

welcome to the forums , glad you are flying #! with us
I am not quite sure which GRUB startup , you mean GRUB menu entry ! if that what you mean .. then from that menu choose recovery mode , from the next menu select > Drop to a root shell .
you can remove the tool with this command :
apt-get remove --purge libpam-usb pamusb-tools

I was able to uninstall it but it still comes up with the error "AUTHENTICATION failed".

Check /etc/pam.d/common-auth
To get it working you had to add an entry to that file. Something like
auth sufficient pam_usb.so You need to remove that line, since you removed the package containing pam_usb.so
I am using pam_usb on debian/sid without problems.
bootinfoscript - emacs primer - I ♥ #!

Its gotten alot worse I got my brother to try and he deleted some files. Now when I get to the login screen It pops up saying AUTHENTICATION failed without me typing anything in. This is not going well.
