Salutations,
So , i was trying to install empathy IM client , right!
it pulls-off other
packages ( brasero - cheese - evolution ) , almost like these packages
are tied to empathy .
So i though this could be coming from a metapackage , but that can not be .. as i haven't installed any metapackage.
I tried " haylo's " suggestion to disable them as been Recommends .. as he thought they were " Recommends " .. but it turned out that's not the case as if .
seems to me like they were Gnome'ish packed or something!
it's annoying! .. am trying to figure out if they were packed as is from debian , or coming from #! side .
I don't get it , someone help me understand this! where is this coming from?
I just need Empathy

So , i went to #debian to discuss this further more .. here is the fun part
it goes like :
someone said : sary empathy depends on nautilus-sendto-empathy, which
depends on nautilus-sendto, which depends on nautilus, which depends
on brasero
I said : you mean nautilus-sendto-empathy depends on > nautilus-sendto >
depends on empathy depends on > brasero
sary> how can a single stand alone program depends on an extension, yet
depnds on anoth stand alone program!
someone said: easily
then another someone said : nautilus-sendto deps on nautilus. brasero deps on nautilus.
n-s-empathy deps on n-sendto. empathy recommends or suggest
n-s-empathy. this is gnome for you
So it all went down to " this Gnome'ish for you "

You can mark this as solved yourself. Edit the first post and you can add [solved] to the title.
Furthermore, this is whats known as the "Gnome Dependencies" They are the baggages associated with gnome-specific applications, and a large reason for the existence of distributions like Crunchbang, which eschew their use.
Similarly there are KDE Dependencies, which are similarly huge and annoying.
+1 for your self-solution and Linux education :-)
