How to store/apply/manage several complete look&feel setups?

Hi there.

So I finally got #! 10 running some kind of smooth and started tweaking it a bit (I really love how flexible it is!).

Finding new conky themes is just as much fun as tweaking your tint2 or obmenu config, loading other kinds of window decorations and adding beautiful wallpapers in combination with new thunar icons that all combine to a stunning look&feel of the system.

As there are so many different styles, it's really quite hard to stick to one forever. Sooner or later you might be in a mood for a complete different layout and style... So I was searching for a solution on how to manage perhaps all of the look&feel elements and configs. This way it would be nice to create some styles and switch them without too much effort (I really don't like to manually unload/load/rename/move/... every single config for every app all the time).

As my search didn't really produce any results I'm asking you if there are tools actually existing that support in what I've in mind? Sure, one solution would be that I add a new user for every style I create but that is not really what I was after.

Every input from your side is very welcome!

Best regards!

Thank you a lot for this, pvsage!
I'll give it a try for sure.

Best regards.

@Mods: So far we can call this topic closed but maybe you want to leave it open a bit for other users to contribute and close it later on. Thank you.

I hope Crunchbox does what you want; re-reading your initial post, I see you want something that remembers what Conkys you run, and I'm not sure if CrunchBox covers that.

We tend not to close threads around here unless an outdated help/support thread or a thread with severely deprecated information gets bumped.  (On thankfully rare occasions, we also may have to close a thread if discussion in it becomes...combustible.)  If you consider this subject solved, you can indicate that in the thread title by editing the initial post. wink
