I'm not all that new to the Linux community but I am new to #!. Looked like it was a good choice for my old R50 Thinkpad. Still a little confused on how to customize things to the way you want. I'd love to move the top toolbar to the bottom and maybe change my color theme to a black and cyan blue. Also would like to know how to download programs. I'm used to using the terminal or the ubuntu storefront, but Idk where they go in #!.
Sorry if someone posted something like this before

Your toolbar is tint2 if you go in to your menu and open the settings section you will find the tint2 section. In there is an edit selection use it to get the config file.
it the file you will find all you need.
under panel you find "panel position" this has control of where it is change it to say "bottom middle horizontal"
as for your color ideas the background IDs control this each has an outline and background color. Each id controls a different section, almost all are labeled. Change the hex colors to what you want.
once you have all as you think you want save. Once save in the settings-tint2 menu you will find a restart option, use it and your new settings will take effect. Repeat as needed.

More the merrier. I reckon it is a good choice for your thinkpad too
For tint2 (the panel) you want to open
sudo geany /home/yourusername/.config/tint2/tintrcFind this line:
panel_position = top center horizontalChange it to:
panel_position = bottom center horizontaltint2restartFor themes:
obconf
lxappearance
Making themes is fun
For packages, apps, etc:
sudo synaptic (package manager)
apt-cache search (your interest)
It's kinda like ubuntu, except a lot better.

Oh okay thanks Ansem! I had looked at the tint2 config file but really didn't want to go messing with it till I knew for sure that it's used for customizing

Hi Xallater, I am sure you have not seen this being new... I have resized your image for the above post.
Cheers!
Please use thumbnails (please try to avoid the large thumbnail imgur.com code) linking to the larger image to help those of us with slow connections. An example of the code needed is below. Most image hosting sites will automatically generate this for you as well. Users have been using postimage.org lately which does a nice job.
