Hi there,
I am not sure but since I updated to a Nvidia kernel, the webcam seems to be of a lower quality. Which sounds strange but I am unsure what could cause that, other than the update to Nvidia drivers.
I am not too sure where to look to change driver or change setting on the webcam ?
I can't even locate my webcam with lspci :

maybe with lsusb ?
If lsusb doesn't work, sudo apt-get install usbutils
With with software do you check the image? Cheese, camorama? Are the v4l packages installed?

Thanks it was really helpful to get the lsusb and the vl42 packages, finally that is what is it for a 0.3mp camera (640x480) - I am not sure a different driver would do the trick or just having good lighting :S
thanks again!
