YouTube videos stop playing

Hey guys,
I have problems with playing videos on YouTube. Before I start explaining the problem I would like to say that I am running Firefox, latest Adobe Flash Player. I am using an Acer Aspire One A150 120GB HDD and 512MB RAM.

Now, the problem is that when I watch YouTube videos, they stop playing. Some times this is within 10 seconds of the video, some times near the end which would be over 5 minutes, or higher depending on the video. I know that the problem is not with my internet connection or my WiFi connectivity as the red bar on the videos is fully loaded and once it loads completely that is when I start playing the video. Overall, the problem approximately happens 4 out of 5 videos that I play. I have noticed no pattern for short or long videos, it seems like it's completely random.

Re: YouTube videos stop playing

Have you tried using another browser and seeing if YouTube plays fine in them?

Re: YouTube videos stop playing

Hi,
I have tried Opera and it stops/freezes on there too so I guess it's not a browser issue.
What could it be? Downloaded .Avi files work fine on VLC and stuff so I guess it's not related to the Graphics card and stuf.

Re: YouTube videos stop playing

Are you using 32-bit or 64-bit CrunchBang?

Uninstall Flash and install the version from Adobe's site:

Re: YouTube videos stop playing

As an alternative to playing YouTube videos in your browser, you could download them via the "youtube-dl" application (it's in the #! repo) and then view them using vlc or xine.  This could also be used as a troubleshooting step to see if flash under Firefox is at the root of the issue.
