multi monitor setup

Ok I need assistance with setting up multiple monitors. I have 2 for now but will be using three shortly. I am not very familiar with the #! way of doing things yet, would anybody be able to help me out or at least point me in the right direction?

Re: multi monitor setup

$ sudo apt-get install grandr arandr

And then try either "grandr" or "arandr" to configure your multiple monitors.

Re: multi monitor setup

^ Yes, definitely. The lastest Waldorf release (20120806) replaces grandr with arandr, so that's why I mentioned it. I've found grandr very useful in the past.

Re: multi monitor setup

Also worth a mention, if your system has a NVIDIA card and you are using the proprietary drivers, you should be able to use the 'nvidia-settings' tool to configure your screens and write out the settings directly to your system's Xorg configuration file.
