[SOLVED] volume control problems (on an acer aspire one 522)

Hi everybody. Ran into a couple of problems after installing crunchbang on my netbook, but with the help these forums and some googling, I've managed to solve all but one.

Initially the audio wasn't working, but after following the instructions on a thread I found here, I got it working. However, I still don't have a volume control applet in my panel, and my fn keys for volume control don't work (however changing brightness works just fine). Not sure what to do from here. Any ideas?

Installed a volume applet and followed your instructions to set the keybindings. Everything works great now. Thanks so much!
