Came to say hello.

I have been using Ubuntu for some time now on my old laptop and yesterday I discovered #! and I have to say I really like the minimalism of it. I'm still getting used to it though smile
I'm 21 years old and I'm Icelandic. I like making graphics, still and motion, 2d and 3d. So I might just post some wallpapers in the future. It's a bummer though that I still have to use windows for my graphics work.

Anyway, Hi! big_smile

Re: Came to say hello.

Hi and welcome to #!

3d graphics is the only reason I run Windows (in virtualbox tho smile ), because linux is still lacking in that area. Have you tried the latest GIMP (2.8)? It addresses some of the last reasons that people use for sticking with Photoshop IMO

I look forward to seeing what you produce smile

I don't know, there is something about gimp I don't like. But have you tried Blender? since you said 3d graphics was the only reason you run windows. There have been some very nice features added lately.

I've dabbled with blender, but the learning curve is huge! I've been using Terragen for terrain generating.

There is something about Photoshop I don't like either - it is very expensive!

It did feel a bit awkward at first having to right click every time I wanted to open a new program (especially since I most of the time have it maximized). But today I finally figured out how to add launcher to tint2 for my most used software. Next up is Conky smile

One thing I'm having trouble with though is mounting my NTFS Data partition hmm

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me, seems like a great community you have here.

If you have specific questions, please ask; or just use the search box at the top right corner and type "mount ntfs"  -- you will see you are not the only person who has had problems with this...

Re: Came to say hello.

^If you do not solve the mounting trouble by your self, ask away in the appropriate place depending on which version of #! you have installed.

Ooops, too late.
