[SOLVED] Advice on how to run #! on a new laptop

I've been running Statler on an elderly netbook for some time and really like openbox and #!

I've also been fortunate to acquire a new latop and I'd like to be able to run #! but the live CD does not recognise the correct screen resolution, no touchpad mouse scrolling and the wireless card does not appear to work. I'm currently running Mint 12 and have all the hardware working.

Is there a way I can get #! working by installing Statler and then moving to debian testing?? Will this work??

Any practical advice would be appreciated.

Try the #! version with backports. It has a new kernel (newer than Mint 12), so if it works in Mint, it should work there.

Why not just add Openbox to your existing Mint 12 install? smile
