I'm searching all Linux Distros and I wanted to find out which suits me. So I'm asking whom is CrunchBang aimed at. I'm new to Linux and in saying this I am really keen to learn.

Hi Lez,
I guess that Crunchbang will be useful both for the new people who are willing to learn something, and to the powerusers. That's the magic of #!. I was noobish when I first used it, and I learnt A LOT about linux 'n stuff

It is aimed at #!ers!
Welcome to #! Lez, it is really for everybody that are willing to learn and have fun with their computer. But if you like lots of colors, big resource hungry DE then maybe you should try something else. The best thing is to try it for a while, when you get the knack of it you will love it. It is really very easy once you learn the first few tricks, so easy that it looks difficult some times. Have fun, ask away and #! will be yours to love.
Time to move on!#

#! is aimed at quirky, moderately insane people, who need a solid distro that won't get in their way. if it was unsolid and it got in their way, it'd be completely broken by now (because of the moderate insanity, you know?)
that's about it.

Welcome to the #! masses.
#! is aimed toward the crazy people here in the forums I think.

Welcome to the forums!
It seems to me CrunchBang is primarily aimed at users who want Debian Stable with the Openbox desktop (with the option to upgrade to testing/unstable and/or to install other desktops). The community here is wonderful.

I don't really care who it is "aimed" at - it suits me wonderfully. Nice and clean, with great support. An excellent vehicle for a stable system which is expandable to as much bloat and eye-candy as you like, or as minimal as suits you.
Great for playing with, good for production. And if you break it then the guys here will get you fixing it in no time
Have fun (and grab some beer and cake before the rest get it all
)

crunchbang is aimed primarily at these under-represented demographics:
1- the color blind
2- the photosensitive
edit - just realised who the true audience for crunchbang is... albinos!
oh and welcome!

ah damn, didn't notice this post was in Introductions, and it was the first post. how unfriendly of me to not welcome you to our community

It's also aimed at people that need something to use out of the box. With 1 weird exception, everything works fine from the login.

Lez,
I used to say answering to Introduction posts: Welcome home..
But the situation is different here. It is not "handy" enough..
So....
Most Warm Welcome to you, Lez!
#! is for you if you wish to have a distro which:
- is stable,
- leans to be as faster as possible,
- is not heavy-on-GUI,
- but still has all useful GUI stuff,
- has LibreOffice oboard (lighter then OpenOffice)
- has all important codecs to live in Facebook-poisoned world
And you can cook #! they way you like it better: with chili papper or with onions.. Just please, read some papers about "how to configure openBox"
... handmade is always better! .. the hand of help is always welcome! ... the hand of support is always strong!

^I have shoved a few folks into a locker in my days
I fought being a computer geek a long time. I even went the football and fraternity route.
I also don't "get" Lord of the Rings.... However, I can spot a Star Trek episode (original) by the way the Enterprise rotates around the planet
#! let's me embrace my inner geekiness
