So I had this problem in the crunchbang version before the previous one and I guess I have it again. The only problem this time is that when I'm trying to install the module I get,
Makefile:61: *** Linux kernel source not found. Stop. Here is the result from lspci

have you installed the kernel headers?
at least:
apt-get install build-essential
apt-get install build-dep
do a few searches on this

That's the problem isn't it? Apt would like an active connection while I'm trying to do this. I think I'll have to update the linux header, but I don't know how to do this without an active internet connection.

Do you have another computer with internet connection? Or another distro on another partition that has internet connection?
If the answer is 'no' to both questions, you will have to find another computer with internet connection, download the linux sources package, transfer it to the #! machine with a pen drive and install the deb file on the #! machine.
If you need more detailed instructions on how to do this, let us know.
The connection was working before? Can you revert to that situation? If you can, you can download the necessary packages, and then do whatever you did that made you loose your internet connection.

My internet was working with the backports version, and the version before that I installed the driver manually. When I try to do this in the current version, I get :
Makefile:61: *** Linux kernel source not found. Stop. But I can download the packages on Windows that I had to set up because I couldn't get online on Crunchbang.

You can download the kernel-headers that go with your kernel from here: http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/amd6 … 4/download. Select a server near your location.
Copy it to to a pen-drive, then copy it to #!
On #!
sudo dpkg -i <path-to-the-deb-file>/linux-headers-2.6-amd64_2.6.32+29_amd64.debThen try compiling the wireless module again.

I'm not going to bother with it, too many dependencies to deal with manually. Thanks xaos52. I'm going to go back to the backports version.
Hi Rogues,
Your ethernetcard needs the atl1c driver that comes with the backports kernel.I would recommend to install the new #! image which became available about 1 week ago.
Your wired ethernet card should be recognized automatically.
That's your post from my old thread. It's not a wireless module it's my ethernet module.
Having trouble grabbing the old images...the download page for those doesn't open up.

Oops.
Why did you go back to the old version? Something else not working with the bpo?
I do not think that the old images (Feb 2011) are still supported. Replaced with Feb 2012 ISO's.

Because I had so many dependencies to take care off that it got crazy. I went back to the bpo version. I'm posting from there.
Thanks for your help.
