I've been using #! for a couple of weeks now and feel I found me home. The installation was a doddle, I love Openbox, and it all just looks very well designed (the 'Shutting down, please standby' message always makes me smile - great eye for detail).
I'm running #! on an Acer Aspire 3000 (built early 2005) and it runs like a train; much faster than Ubuntu did on the same machine. Much as I appreciate what Ubuntu is doing for Linux it's not a distro that's well suited for people who don't buy a new computer every other year.
Probably won't be a very active on the forum as I'm not the greatest Linux expert and because everything just seems to work - I didn't even need to make an effort to set up LAMP. I would be interested in helping where I can. If it's of any use, I'm a native speaker of Dutch.
Groeten!

hi Beepmode, welcome to the community! don't worry about your linux-skills. you don't need them to be an active member of the community. you can just keep the mood up as well, by hanging out in the off-topic section and talking about music, movies, beer, coffee, food or smoking.
