Just wanted to see if anyone else on here played this game? Its pretty fun to play if you don't have anything better to play, I am just using the keyboard and holding it like a guitar so it starts to hurt the wrists after awhile.

I played once, for like, five minutes.
Might be a nice way to get through a Guitar Hero craving if you don't have Guitar Hero available, except that it's kind of not the same on my laptop keyboard XP

Yeah I am going though one of those moods right now, but don't have a system to play GH on.

I know the feeling. I have it for my 360, but it red ringed on me a few weeks ago and I'm still working on fixing it...

I had 3 of them do that to me, all not covered by warranty so I final said "I can't afford this" and stop buying them.

Ouch.
I can't really afford a new game console at this point, so I've been trying to fix the thing, since it wasn't under warranty either... looks like I'm going to have to get a new motherboard, though. Bleh.
Hey, I just remembered I have a spare keyboard at home. Maybe I could steal that and get Frets on Fire going...

I registered specifically to post on this.
The trick is to get Frets on Fire X, not juts Frets on Fire.
You have to download it from their google code page:
http://code.google.com/p/fofix/
Get music from
http://geetarfreaks.net/ when they get their site back up. Also for Linux you have to mess with their songs a bit (case sensitivity) but there's a script in the Tech Center (written by yours truly) that should rename all of the files properly.
Anyway. I vouch for it. I moved away from college and didn't want to buy an xbox to get my rock band fix, bought a $10 red octane xbox 360 guitar and downloaded FoF and haven't really missed Rock Band or Guitar Hero.
Lots of fun. Frets on Fire X beats the pants off of regular Frets on Fire.
(dont think this will be my last post though. I've just been lurking and couldnt help myself when I saw this thread)
