I recently tried installing a new gtk theme on my xfce session and used --replace for some stupid reason and uninstalled gtk2.0 and restarted my system up. I returned to a screen that didn't let me use my xfce4 autostart.sh and the windows had no titles, minimize, max, or close buttons. They also wouldnt move. This was the error I got when doing xfwm4 --replace. Now pretty much everything is back to normal. Heres the website I got it from.

Sorry if its against the rules but I was ready to give up with this until I found it.
edit: anyone know why my mouse pad isn't working. I cant tap the pad to click on things.

Why not just write your own How To?
It would then go into the Quick Reference Guide..

This does not make much sense. Why should anyone unsinstall gtk2? THIS is why your system was b0rked, not because of using --replace...
I'm so meta, even this acronym

I was just showing how I fixed something, so maybe if someone googled the problem that I had then it would come up. I searched for about an hour and finally found that link. I wasn't trying to sound smart or anything. I accidently uninstalled gtk and didn't know. --replace fixed my problem. Plain and simple.

Pay special attention to how to ask questions the smart way.
In spite your intentions were without doubt good, you did the things the wrong way, IMHO your post should be in the tips, tricks and scripts sub-forum and the subject would never be requesting a sticky to a post that offers no solution, just a link to a forum where there is a link to another forum where the solution was posted...

All in all demarsjcd was just trying to help, and even apologizing in the OP if he was doing it the wrong way... Intentions count... IMHO

Of course intentions count, and we need people willing to help.
@demarsjcd I was trying to help you understand how you can help more and be helped more also, I hope you don't get mad at me...

I'm not mad at you lol. But when it comes to post like the ones above, it really doesn't do anything to what my objective was. Like I said I was just informing people who happen to stumble upon this problem. If it was in the wrong place or wrong format then thats why we have moderators.
But then again the reason why I picked this OS to dual boot with my laptop was because for the most part everyone is willing to help. Which is very rare in forums, because you usually get a response like "use the search function" BS or other comments like the ones above which doesn't help at all...
@vastone, Thank you! You among other people on this forum are the ones that I was talking about. You guys really are a huge asset to this community and you volunteer to help out.

You're right, I apologize.
