Just succeeded at building and actually running the new version of Slingshot. Spent the whole day at it, in combination with my homework
EDIT: sadly its placement seems to be hardcoded. The button to launch is in my tint2, but it always appears as on the screenshot. Gonna look into that and maybe make a request at its developer.

@Unia nice one
I had a crack at slingshot about 3 months ago and couldn't get anywhere with it. I like the look of it though.
Also, I like that tint2. Do you have the config posted anywhere?

I have a very similar one on the tint2 help thread, but the one I'm using right now is here. I actually made the top left corner the hot-corner for launching Slingshot, working, looking and feeling better

I'm not sure I get what you mean, but Slingshot is designes to not be treated like a window. You cant move it, cant resize it, cant put window borders on it; nothing. Unless you edit the source, of course (which is pretty good documented, even I got it).

@Unia, ah, I didn't understand what Slingshot was. I looked it up and it's an application launcher. An application launcher that you are launching via tint2?

It's nothin special... but a grasshopper wall if anyone has been looking for such a thang. Took it earlier while searching for a damn bat out in my barn. It dissapeared after I grabbed the lens.
@PeeFeerHerrs
Dude I love how that yellow becomes white on that setup. What's the wall btw? Reminds of akira for some reason. Nice tile job. That's some complex stuff.
@Packrat
Loving setup on the river / Mark Twainish wall. Great work.
Edit:
@bimbo bread truck
if I wasn't saving for Yosimite camping in a week and half I would order that right now. Big TY lil buddy. If i can steal it in MP3 it will be done until the quid manifests.

Sector11 wrote:Actually, my thanks goes to you. I was "quasi" forced to look at those fonts. Lovely things they are!
They don't show up in gedit though.Sure do look sweet on your system though.
Where did you put the fonts? You're on Debian/Statler, right?
Try "sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config", answer Native, Automatic and Yes to the 3 questions that appear. Then restart X (or log out and back in again if you use GDM). See if it works with gedit and GTK apps now.
Hmmmmmmm I put the font where I put them all: ~/.font
I get Native, Automatic and only 1 question and yes Statler: r20110207
