Hello,
You can add
deb http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable mainto your /etc/apt/sources.list and then perform a sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

That's probably easier than using the debian testing for chromium, huh?
Too late, already got it updating.

thank you machinebacon
how to edit source list?
Offline
sudo gedit /etc/apt/source.listOffline
1) open a terminal (Terminator)
2) enter gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list or sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
3) copy the line
deb http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main and add it into the file
4) save the file, and close gedit.
5) back in terminal, copy and paste:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade6) usually the upgrade part should catch google's chrome and update it, when updates are available.

The stable is grabbed from statler. You have to get it from testing or elsewhere. I'm in the process of rolling out a testing install.

latest stable is 13.0.782.218
i always just grab it from http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?platform=linux

google says: This product is not available in your country

Curious where that country is ? Another random thought, could always check out proxy servers to connect to and do the download and/or try chromium instead of google chrome. Hopefully an opensource proj wouldn't have any restrictions on what country a prospective user originates ? My general understanding is that chromium and chrome are more or less the same. Similar to the way firefox and iceweasel are supposed to be pretty much the same.

Some common cbiz abbreviations. This will save me time and yet @ same time tell folks what the babble is supposed to mean.

i guess the mistake here is: it's chromium in the statler repositories not google chrome.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromium_(software)
vs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Chrome
is it?
We are a nice, friendly community here and I hope we stay that way.

^ right, and that's why the newly added sources.list repository points to Google Chrome Stable (and not to testing) because Statler is Squeeze = Stable.
