Time tracking software recommendation.

First things first: #! community has been the best place for me to find out new software recommendation. smile

So I thought ask you guys for my new s/w need too.

I'm, looking for a time tracking and/or todo software.

I found out Hamster today when I Google so I'd like to know if there's any hamster users here too.

And also I found wakoopa , a web service. Not sure how does it affect privacy though.

Re: Time tracking software recommendation.

Maybe this can help: On my android phone I use a simple program called timetracker. It lets me track my time for different task, and export to csv.

At the computer I use openoffice calc. the formula "=now()" gives you the current time. this time will update it self when ever calc does a calculation. Therefore you have to calculate "now" as a value, and not a formula. You do this pressing F9.

Then when you are finished with your task you do anoter "now()" + F9 and you subtract one from the other.

Hope this helps.

Re: Time tracking software recommendation.

You might want to choose zoho projects for time tracking and task management. It has great features in tasking. It helps you to organize, assign tasks and priortize tasks using color codes all from a central place. You can monitor the status of tasks, assign tasks to members, send email reminders and track progress of your project.

You may also like to use a much user-friendly tool which is very easy to use. It's called Basecamp. You do not have to take a lot of time to learn this tool. Projects and tasks are loaded in a single dashboard so you can easily access them. You can also check these basecamp alternatives which you can check its features in the spreadsheet and compare them with the others. It's always better to have a comparison of features so you'll see which is right for you.

For todo software, I personally use google calendar, but might be switching to one of these other programs. big_smile

I've been comparing quite a few an Task Coach seemed to be the king. Though I'm still not satisfied, for it's a bit of an overkill if you don't want to track things to the minute - in which case you can get creative with some of the features of Wikidpad...

Re: Time tracking software recommendation.

The one I use is an online application called OnePageOnly - http://onepageonly.net/ and it's very simple and accessible.

What I like about it is the fact that I can start time tracking on my laptop, then continue my work while going by bus or train and run the application e.g. on my phone (there's such option that after closing a browser, the trackers still counts the time).
