Happy New User !!!

Hello all,

I'm Jim from the USA, very glad to be among a group of people using such
an Awesomely Cool distro!

I'm a long time *nix person, and a certified *nix sysadmin as well, lately I've
been dissatisfied with the status quo of what's out there and decided to
make a concerted effort to find the Best! That said, we all know that's a
Subjective choice as well. Simply stated, I have used all the major distros,
and many of the not so major one's too, as well as Digital, SunOS, the BSD's,
etc. In general I can find something good in all of them, but something was
lacking...?  I decided to confer with some long time friends and fellow power
users over some pizza to get some opinions, and was not disappointed!  ;^)

In summary, I think that  "#!" now being based on pure Debian was what clinched it for
me! The overall look, feel, and design of the distro and the choice of the Openbox and
Xfce *nix look,  just can't be beat! It is in short the Perfect distro for people who are Serious
*nix and *nix-a-like users (My Opinion). What a fortunate realization for Me!!!
This is the kind of project that leads to users Wanting to contribute something back to
the community in return for such an Awesome experience!

So.., I'm very pleased to make your acquaintance and look forward to getting to know
lots of people who use and develop such a wonderfully *nixish, easy, fun to Customize
GNU/Linux flavor. ( My defacto OS of choice from now on!)

Jim

Hey Merely JIM!

I installed both Openbox and Xfce sessions, but I gotta say that Xfce hasn't got Nearly the
mileage that Openbox has!  It's difficult for me to stop playing with Openbox, and Good to meet You!

Re: Happy New User !!!

Good to meet you, too.

Openbox has a lot of under-the-hood options that really makes it unique from everything else out there - enjoy.

Despite the conference over pizza (wise choice - after a few beers once, I tried Fedora with Gnome3. Once.) more than a few of us like trying out other distro's, and you'd find the results here; http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/topic … anonymous/

Glad to have you here.

Re: Happy New User !!!

Hey Jim, welcome. #! gets better with each day you use it. Yesterday the Debian team sent a bunch of updates through backports, which updated Audacious and fixed every damn bug it had. The rest of the stuff was non-volatile system libraries. It's stuff like that.

Hey el_koraco,

#! is so sleek and impressive that I seriously doubt I will use anything else, it's very satisfying
to find something that you've been looking for, seemingly forever!   ;^)
