Western Digital 500GB Passport USB Drive

Has anyone installed #! to the Western Digital Passport series of USB drives? Specifically the 500GB drive? I originally thought I wanted to use a USB stick, but the added storage of a disk-based drive looks to be what I really need. Just want to make sure I won't have any issues before I drop the $120 on the drive.

Thanks!

Wanted to get and external drive as backup, so might as well make sure it can install and boot #!  big_smile

Any recommendation 250Gb and above will be greatly appreciated !!

It should work OK, although I haven't used that specific drive. Make sure that you computer can boot OK from USB first, use something like a usb stick. I have got Ubuntu installed on my Archos media player and I can boot from that.

Essentially, if your computer has no trouble recognizing usb hard drives and can boot correctly from something like a usb stick it should work. However, don't blame me if it doesn't:)

Thanks, Ian.  That's what I thought.  I have already tested it on USB sticks so I should be good to go.
