Hi,
I'm Mark from Norwich, U.K. I'm trying out CrunchBang-openbox:). One of the first things I did was dist-upgrade to sid/unstable (I also have an aptosid partition so I'm familiar with this sort of thing). Doesn't seem to have caused much of a problem except Plymouth isn't working and I can't install Eclipse (although this second problem appears just to be a transient sid breakage).

Hi Mark, welcome to #!
Nice to have another SidBanger around. Be sure to post breakages, fixes, problems or minor issues in the "Testing/Unstable" section of the forums. Similar to the 'aptosid'-like Upgrade Warnings
My recommendation is to use 'apt-listbugs' as extra security layer.
BTW I have the same setup as you, #!Sid and Aptosid. And LMDE. But she has to wait

Thanks for the apt-listbugs tip machinebacon, I wasn't aware of it. I've installed it in both CrunchBang and aptosid now.

It will notify inside of apt, so not as separate application, but right after fetching the files from the repos.
