Dual booting.

Okay, so, when I go into grub, and try to boot into my Windows XP, it tells me that there was an error, any idea why or how to fix it. I've tried a bunch of different things, and none of them work so far.
Also, how do I make it so I can boot into CrunchBang without having to go through Recovery, because when I boot normally, it just loads into a blank black screen and nothing happens.

Re: Dual booting.

I'm not sure about the recovery part. But if you post your partition info and menu.lst I can help with getting into xp.

Re: Dual booting.

Okay, I have two separate hard drives, one with Windows XP SP3 and one with Linux.  I'm not sure if that's what you'rel ooking for, if you need something else, please tell me, and my menu.lst is:

# menu.lst - See: grub(8), info grub, update-grub(8)
# grub-install(8), grub-floppy(8),
# grub-md5-crypt, /usr/share/doc/grub
# and /usr/share/doc/grub-doc/.

# WARNING: If you are using dmraid do not use 'savedefault' or your

Re: Dual booting.

No, XP is on my slave drive. I use Linux as my main, but all my music is on my XP HDD, and I would like to be able to retrieve it, also, I do need to use XP, and I do't like having to go through BIOS.

Re: Dual booting.

That might be your problem, if xp is on your slave drive then it would need to be (hd1,0) but in your menu.lst it's listed as (hd0,0) which would be the first drive.
