Hi, I'm using an Acer Aspire Timeline 4810 laptop, and I've noticed that after I change the brightness the menus slow down considerably. Anyone know why this is happening? This specific model of laptop also has issues with opengl and changing the brightness, so I guess that it's possible that it's related to that...
Flash also seems to slow down in fullscreen after the brightness change.

do you have cairo compositing on. I know that that slows down the menus a bit also are you using the openbox or xfce versions of #!.
I is natural, at least for what I've noticed. for flash to be rather bad with full-screen on linux. especially if you have an older laptop. (I don't know how old yours is)
I wish you luck!

all I can think is: You just wait. In a couple of years. I'll be your IT. Then where will you be!

I'm currently using the openbox version, and compositing doesn't seem to have any effect (I tested it with cairo-compmgr on and off). Fullscreen flash normally works fine (it's not a very old computer), but after I change the brightness it's slows WAAAAY down.

does conky show any crazy cpu usage?

It doesn't appear to... It's holding pretty steady around 15-20%, which is where it was before I changed the brightness.
