Need a little bit of hepl with statler

Hello there
i installed the latest version of crunchbang on an old laptop and it works really smoothly
congratulations on the release!

There is only a couple of things that are getting in the way :
_no sound at all
It may be a problem with the PC itself cause i bought it second hand and never heard anything out of it but i would like to be sure. I don't really know what test to run for that
_ sometimes when i close the lid (it's a laptop) it goes in a sort of sleep and does not want to wake up, the only thing i can do is turn it off and on again

If you have any clues in order to solve these issues it would be very welcome
Cheers
Jean

Hi Jean,
sound can be difficult and complicated, but usually can be fixed eventually - unless your hardware is broken! smile
This post on the Ubuntu forums is quite old, but has a lot of ideas for thihgs you can try:

For the sleep thing, first off you might check the settings of Xfce power manager. See if there's something about lid closing that you can turn off.

the sound thing happened for me too. what I did is press W-v "windows key v" then go to "add controls" add everything that you can then set everything to maximum. it should work then.
