Crunchbang and HP QuickPlay?

The quick play buttons on my HP Pavilion laptop always worked fine with Ubuntu 8.04 but not so for Crunchbang 8.04.  I'm assuming this has something to do with Openbox vs Gnome as the default window manager.  Is there anyway to enable these buttons to work in Crunchbang?  It would be great to use my volume keys again, thanks in advance... big_smile

Re: Crunchbang and HP QuickPlay?

*bump*

does anyone know what I mean by quick play buttons?  The blue lit buttons towards the top of the keypad featured on newer HP laptops, with volume and song/movie control.  I cannot recall if I ever got them to work under XFCE which I believe may be the culprit of this.

Re: Crunchbang and HP QuickPlay?

You may find this link useful, especially the "advanced method", which is more CLI/config-file-centric, and so closer to the #! minimalist way of doing things :

Hope that helps.
