Hello

I usually don't do the forum thing, but you guys seem to help each other out a lot.  #! is probably the easiest distro I've tried so far.  I always get pushed back to windows, because something is broken and I can't find any solutions.  So far, my dual monitor setup was the only problem I've had, and it was fixed pretty quickly.  I've tried Ubuntu, and Fedora, but I don't like how they are slowly putting CLI in the backseat and focusing on GUI.  Openbox is perfect.  Most things just work, and I still get to satisfy my nerd habits with customizing config files.  smile

Re: Hello

Welcome to #! smile

I never joined a forum before, but Crunchbang was the exception, and man, am I ever glad I did. This community is the best.

Glad to have you here...

Just for my own curiosity, where did you hear about Crunchbang?

Re: Hello

I really don't remember.  I tried it a few years ago when I was first thinking about leaving windows.  It didn't work on my hardware, so I went back to windows.  I think I saw it on distrowatch back then.  I just built this system about 7 months ago, and was using Ubuntu/Windows on it, and I finally got tired of Ubuntu breaking and Windows is just annoying with all of its "security" features.

Re: Hello

Really? Windows has security features? big_smile

I have to admit that the majority of hardware issues were either supported or easily fixed with a minimum of effort. Glad you stuck with it, and I'm sure you'll find it a vastly more rewarding experience than treding the Microsoft path.
