I was just looking at some of the introductions and I'm really impressed that mods are actually paying attention here. I just switched over to #! after losing my system to a hard drive failure and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I'm a student so I have little to no budget for a better computer but so far #! has my dell mini 9 running better than many desktops I could buy.
I'm not completely new to linux but I'm learning a lot more and I feel like crunchbang will be a great environment for that, both on my laptop and in the forums. There's definitely a different feeling with this community that I'm pretty excited about.
See you around,
Devin

PS
I'm interested in some advice about stripping #! down even further in order to do some semi-hardcore scientific computing with mathematica (I'm studying physics and astronomy). Any thoughts would be appreciated over at another other post I made...

Hello Devin
Welcome to the forums, it is good to have you aboard.
I'm interested in some advice about stripping #! down even further in order to do some semi-hardcore scientific computing with mathematica (I'm studying physics and astronomy).
I do not have any experience with mathematica, but I can try to help out with the stripping down part.

Actually, the more I look into it the more it appears that you've already done my work for me...
Thanks corenominal and all the other crunchbangers for your hard work on a great distro!
