I installed on a laptop which has a Sis graphics card.
If you tried to run the text installer and just got a black screen, you will probably need to change the vga resolution.
To do this:
On the "text installer" line, hit Tab
Next hit "e" to edit and you will see the commands appear at the bottom of the screen where you can use your arrow keys to navigate where it says
vga=normalEdit it to say
vga=791Now move your cursor back to the end of all those commands and hit "Enter"
The text installer should now be visible.

I have a laptop that I am having trouble installing Crunch Bang on.
I have tried vga=791 the Forum help here and vga=771 as per the help in crunch bang live cd boot options. I think I also tried 326 which is 1024x768x32
The blank screen comes after or during /dev being populated
When I hit e it just puts e at the end of the command.
My Specs
MPC TransPort X1000
Intel Pentium 4M 2.2 GHz Process
1024MB DDR PC2100 Memory
?Graphics Radon 9000 32MB Ram?
