Desktop colour problem...

Ok, so i've been using # for a while now, finally erased my windows partition for good and i couldn't be happier. Still, there's this little glitch that annoys the hell outta me. When i disable nitrogen from running at startup, the next time i boot, the screen is all WHITE (???). Is there a way to change the desktop background colour to black, other than the nitrogen menu (which i tried and didn't work) ????? Thank you. smile
