hello

hi there.

I'm not good with introduction, but I will try. My name is Marc, age is 20. I live in India. I recently decided to try Linux mainly because it's a free and open-source and also because my Windows 7 OS recently crashed when I performed an update. I tried using repair disk, but it didn't help me at all. Now whenever I start my laptop, it says a system driver (wdf01000.sys) is missing or corrupted and hence it can't boot at all. I contacted various Microsoft professionals on their website but they can't help me either. And there's no way I'm gonna pay for another license. Sigh.

So, some of my friends over skype suggested to particularly use CrunchBang Linux and so I decided to give it a shot. I haven't installed #! as I'm having some questions on how to install it properly, which I will brief on another post.

From all I've written so far, you can probably guess that I'm new to this Linux thingy, and I will definitely need help, hence I joined this forum. So here it goes....... smile

and have a great day to you all. ;p
