Getting AAO webcam working with CrunchBang Standard

Hi, anyone know of how to get the Acer Aspire One webcam to work with CrunchBang?

Also noticed that Mic is not working either.  Added Sickboy kernel.

Edit:  Webcam seems to work in Skype test.  Not Cheese Webcam app though.  Still cannot get mic to work.

Switching sound device to (hw:Intel,0) inSkype preferences.  Gets the mic working there but it doesn't work elsewhere like the webcam.

My webcam does not operate too. I mentioned it earlier however someone else said that their's works.

for how to get crunchbang working smoothly on the AAO - The part on audio might get your mic working.  The part on fan management made my AAO crash (it may be fine for you) - I posted here (http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/topic … ne/page/3/) on the topic.

I couldn't for the life of me get cheese to work - I just installed luvcview - this works fine. (Just do a search for it in the packagae manager and you'll find it there, you can then edit your conky right click menu to have it appear - do this using the GUI menu editor (or just use super-tab and type luvcview to see it appear in the launcher)

As an update - I've since been playing with unofficial 9.04 CB release and also sickboys latest kernal (http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/view … erhdf+kuki)

With this combo the webcam worked with cheese straight out of the box (as did the wireless LED + much better wireless performance + bbc iplayer is no longer jerky)
