Lost sound? want alsa and sound

Using CrunchBang Waldorf
I have lost sound on my computer: when I booted the computer I couldn't get the sound to work. I opened alsamixer to try and see what was wrong; it has pulseaudio and I can't see a way to fix it or how to change cards. I followed the article: pulse audio to alsa a while back because I prefer alsa, but it reverted back for some reason. Now I ran the article again and it doesn't want to change things.

I would like to get alsa working and my sound.
