Frequent System Freeze when Deleting Files.

Info.

This problem occurs when emptying the Trash or upon a shift+del
ctrl+alt+backspace will not restart Xserver (dontzap is disabled no issues with this function otherwise)

File Manager = Thunar
Ram = 1.2 Gb
CPU = 1.4 PentiumM

any thoughts... anyone else experiencing this issue?

Re: Frequent System Freeze when Deleting Files.

Try deleting your Thunar configuration and see if the freeze still happens:

/home/user/.config/Thunar

Also purge Thunar:

sudo apt-get purge thunar

Then reinstall.

Re: Frequent System Freeze when Deleting Files.

If your stuck like that you could try holding down right alt + sysrq and hitting r,e,i,s,u,b hold them each for a second or two. If you wanna know what it does look up magic sysrq, it hasn't been working for me lately though but if it works it's preferable to a hard restart.
Also have you tried deleteing the files from the command line? It may be a pain but it'll help you rule out if it's thunar or something else.

I say never be complete, I say stop being perfect, I say lets evolve, let the chips fall where they may.

Re: Frequent System Freeze when Deleting Files.

Maybe you deleted something and then decided you want it back? Or you just deleted it by accident?
