Watching quicktime on linux

How can I watch quicktime video on the Web with Crunchbang?
I haven't found much doing searches. I tried to install gnome-mplayer and gecko-mediaplayer
I found an article that these would work, but had problems installing. Is there another solution?

Thanks

Re: Watching quicktime on linux

partial "compatibility" can be achieved by apt-get installing gecko-mediaplayer (which will bring in GNOME MPlayer and friends). < I have only tested chromium.

What kind of Quicktime media?  That term covers several codecs and protocols.  For example, there seems to be a bug in the current Linux Firefox/Iceweasel builds that doesn't agree with embedded .webm videos.

I'm trying to watch the video on this site:

Aptitude won't let me install the packages. I get this message:

root@crunchbang:~# aptitude -r install gecko-mediaplayer
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  gecko-mediaplayer gnome-mplayer{a} libbs2b0{a} libdiscid0{a} libgmlib0{a} libgmtk0{a} libgmtk0-data{a} libgpod-common{a} libgpod4{a}
  libmusicbrainz3-6{a} libxss1{a} mplayer2{ab}
0 packages upgraded, 12 newly installed, 0 to remove and 4 not upgraded.
Need to get 5,615 kB of archives. After unpacking 14.2 MB will be used.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 mplayer2 : Depends: libggi2 (>= 1:2.2.2) which is a virtual package.
            Depends: libggiwmh0 (>= 0.3.2) which is a virtual package.
            Depends: libopencore-amrnb0 but it is not going to be installed.
            Depends: libsvga1 but it is not going to be installed.
            Depends: libvdpau1 (>= 0.2) but it is not going to be installed.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

     Keep the following packages at their current version:
1)     gecko-mediaplayer [Not Installed]
2)     gnome-mplayer [Not Installed]
3)     mplayer2 [Not Installed]

Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?]

None of this videos load for me, also can't figure out the url of the real videos.

edit: this are some sort of rtsp "darwin-server" streams.
