SOLVED: Screen goes wonky

JIzv_LE4.jpg

Sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it takes a few minutes. Logging out and logging back in fixes it. It always returns after a few minutes. (less than 10)
Radeon X1200 (RS690M) netbook.
lsmod shows that I am using the Radeon driver. I have created a .conf file (Xorg -configure), thinking it may help. That file is recognized, but no joy.
X log file only shows warnings for a missing font...

Any ideas what this is and how to fix it?

This Netbook was previously running Mint 12 with no issues, I just wanted to go leaner...

Solved: Turned off hardware acceleration in Xorg.conf.

Moderator Edit - Image ReSize

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please use thumbnails (please try to avoid the large thumbnail imgur.com code) linking to the larger image to help those of us with slow connections. An example of the code needed is below. Most image hosting sites will automatically generate this for you as well. Users have been using postimage.org lately which does a nice job.

Re: SOLVED: Screen goes wonky

I have some applications that do that on my ATi/AMD desktop if I have compositing enabled.  If you can live without compositing, I'd suggest removing it from your autostart.

OK, disabled compositing, commented out cb-compositor --start && \

so far so good I will play more tomorrow and see if it works.

Apologies to the mods for the bad link to imgur. First time, I figured I'd pick the wrong link...

Re: SOLVED: Screen goes wonky

Well, it's not compositing. Still get those lines. Any other ideas?
