Hey guys..
CrunchBang 11 Waldorf 64-bit.
Now, I know Docky is not included with CB but I prefer it to tint2 and added it as soon as I had Waldorf installed. But, I found when setting up the various configuration menus that everytime I opened a config file to change something that my autohidden Docky would quit. It was 50/50 whether I could start it again with terminal and lost much minimised work as a result.
Long story short.. It was Geany opening that was disabling Docky.
I'll use Leafpad (or nano) in the short term to edit text files but if anyone has any ideas it would be useful.

..hmm, no replies. I guess its something peculiar to my install then. Anyway, no need for an IDE at the moment so Geany is removed. Still curious as to how opening Geany would kill Docky though..

docky crashing should not affect other stuff running, so your description is puzzling. I had docky crashing as well, but later (when was the last time you did apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade?) this got fixed.

Hey thanks for the reply. Yes, maybe I worded that badly.
When I minimise any application, it sits on Docky until i need it again. I don't run tint2, so Docky is where my minimised stuff is parked. When Docky quits on me though, I have no way to retrieve any open applications. Just opening another one, doesn't usually help. Thats all I meant and It's just a consequence of Docky quitting.
The only issue is Docky quitting when Geany is opened.
John.
